  • The Sikorsky X2 prototype recently set a world speed record for a helicopter when it was clocked travelling over 250 knots (287.69 mph). The speed was recorded on a test run with the X2 sailing past the current world record of 216.46 knots (249.1 mph) generated by the British-built Westland Lynx ZB-500 in 1986.
